Có một điều bạn cần phân biệt: ở Mỹ, các tiểu bang là một Nhà Nước, một quốc gia nhỏ (a state) trong lòng một Nhà Nước lớn (the United States- Hợp Chủng QUỐC (gia)- liên bang) cho nên các tiểu bang sẽ có những luật lệ, quy định riêng bên cạnh những luật lệ, quy định chung áp dụng trên toàn quốc, toàn lãnh thổ, toàn liên bang Hoa Kỳ. Quy định về bằng lái xe ở mỗi tiểu bang nằm trong đặc tính này. Nó khác với đơn vị hành chính ở VN khi mà một nước (a state) có nhiều tỉnh (provinces) nên bằng lái xe ở VN có giá trị trên toàn quốc.

Cám ơn bạn Bình Minh rất nhiều vì đã giải thích chi tiết và rõ ràng nên làm mình hiểu hơn về nước Mỹ. Bạn cho mình hỏi thêm là trong tuờng hợp mai mốt mình qua Mỹ mà chưa rành tiếng Anh thì mình có thể xin thi bằng tiếng Việt được không? Vì nghe nói qua đó mà không có chiếc xe thì coi như là cụt chân rồi, khỏi đi đâu được hết, mà tiếng Anh thì phải có thời gian để học, mới qua thì làm sao giỏi tiếng Anh được bạn nhỉ.

Hơn nữa, Cuốn Sổ tay Hướng dẫn Lái xe của tiểu bang Calif. cũng có bản tiếng Việt để bạn dễ dàng ôn tập thi Lý thuyết.

Không có xe hơi thì không hẳn là bógiò.com vì bạn có thể chọn các phương tiện khác để di chuyển (đi bộ, đi xe đạp, đi xe bus...hoặc nhờ người nhà chở đi). Tuy nhiên, những cách trên sẽ khiến bạn mất thời gian và không thể chủ động được về lâu về dài nên lý tưởng nhất là bạn nên có một cái driver license (đồng thời cũng là Identification Card-ID-thẻ Căn cước).

Cám ơn bạn Binhminh rất nhiều và cũng rất vui khi biết mình có thể thi bằng lái xe lý thuyết bằng tiếng Việt ở Cali vì mình cũng khá lớn tuổi khi qua đó mà phải học lại tiếng anh đợi giỏi xong mơi đi thi được thì chắc chắn sẽ rất phiền hà cho mình và cho cả người thân của mình vì mình chỉ nhờ vả họ giúp mình lúc mới qua thôi chứ không thể nhờ vả mãi được, mình phải lo cho mình trước khi đợi người khác giúp mình bạn nhỉ. Mình nghe nói ở Dalas-Texas cho thi lý thuyết lái xe trên web online ,mình có thể login thi tại nhà .Có đúng như vậy không . Nếu Dalas thi được thì các city khác của Texas có thi kiểu như vậy ?

Đúng như anh Laoquau nói là thi VIẾT chỉ tại văn phòng DPS (TX) hay tại VP các trường dạy lái xe ...
Đến DPS hay Trường có thể ngồi thi Trắc Nghiệm :
- tại computer hay trả lời trên giấy . Ngôn ngữ thi : tiếng Mỹ
Thi viết bằng tiếng Việt có ở Cali ... ở TX thì không có.

Ở TX Người Việt ở đông vậy mà không có thi tiếng việt,nhưng MO người việt ở ít hơn lại có thi tiếng việt

Thưa Cháu ... Chú ở Texas và đã thi lái xe vào đầu năm 2013, chú đã tìm hiểu để học thi từ người quen cũng như nhân viên DPS giải thích cho biết : phải thi tại VP DPS hay tại cơ sở đào tạo bằng English NO VIETNAMESE chứ chưa hề nghe nói THI ONLINE tại NHÀ. Thưa Cháu ... Chú ở Texas và đã thi lái xe vào đầu năm 2013, chú đã tìm hiểu để học thi từ người quen cũng như nhân viên DPS giải thích cho biết : phải thi tại VP DPS hay tại cơ sở đào tạo bằng English NO VIETNAMESE chứ chưa hề nghe nói THI ONLINE tại NHÀ. Thực tế là chú đã trải qua nên post bài kể lại ở trên đó.

Thi lái xe tại TX thì ở thành phố nào cũng giống nhau về bộ đề thi lý thuyết kể cả thi thực hành cũng vậy.
Tại Houston có đến 9 địa điểm thi, cháu đăng ký chọn địa điểm gần nhà để tiện việc đi lại và ngồi thi ngay tại văn phòng DPS khi mình đã ôn xong câu hỏi, tự tin để thi.
