Những em nào trong thời gian qua, đã đựơc tôi giúp đỡ xin học ở Mỹ, xin hãy giúp tôi một chuyện là gởi thư "Cám ơn sự giúp đỡ của tôi cho các em" (A Thank You email or Letter to www.xuatnhapcanh.com and VHA08)

***Mục đích tôi cần những lá thư cám ơn/than phiền này để thương lượng với các trường ở Mỹ, cho quyền lợi của chung của các học sinh Việt ở Mỹ, và đồng thời cũng giúp cho các em học sinh nghèo ở Việt Nam. Sau khi tôi thương lượng thành công tôi sẽ công bố kết quả trên XNC.

Các cháu là cư dân ở Mỹ cũng nên giúp tôi làm chuyện này. Tôi sẽ xin giấy phép và FAFSA sẽ cho tôi ký tên cùng với các cháu trên mẫu đơn xin FAFSA.
Thay vì chỉ 1 mình các cháu ký tên.

Cám ơn phụ huynh và các em đã gởi thư "Cám ơn" cho tôi. Tính đến nay chỉ đựoc có 4 email thôi. Với 4 email này cũng đủ để cho tôi làm việc, nhưng tôi sẽ gặp nhiều khó khăn khi thay mặt 1 học sinh nói chuyện với trường. Giống như câu chuyện hôm nay, một du học sinh yêu cầu bà Assistant Director của trường Essex County College nói chuyện với tôi, bà này trả lời như sau:

I, Kenny Pham, am the Advisor and Member of the Board of Xuatnhapcanh.com Friendship Association, on behalf of said student and the seventeen thousand Vietnamese students, who are currently study at U.S schools, officially request Essex County College to reconsider and to reinstate her student status.

Due to the delay of U.S visa processing, the student name above, came to your school too late to take a placement test and complete other enrollments required by your school. You (Mrs./Ms. Sanja Dizdarevic) placed her in English as a Second Language classes, without giving her an opportunity to take the COMPASS Test, or explain to her how the American education system works and your school policy-- this should be done on the orientation day.

If you and/or your school do not allow Ms. Nguyen to enroll for spring semester and arrange her placement test date, I & Ms. Nguyen, will file a complaint against you and Essex County College with New Jersey Education Department, Vietnamese Embassy Office in U.S and all appropriate government agency of both countries.

Your approval for readmission will avoid any further legal action and sincerely appreciated.

This memo serves as acknowledgement that the following information was discussed on 10/18/2012 with Ms. Nguyen (ECC# 0000000):

1. Ms. Nguyen’s international student status is currently “inactive”.

2. Based on Ms. Nguyen’s unauthorized withdrawal from Fall classes, Ms. Nguyen will be automatically terminated and her status will change to “out of status”.

3. Ms. Nguyen has expressed an interest in leaving the country and returning to Essex County College for the Spring semester.

4. The Assistant Dean of Student Success, in agreement with the PDSO for Essex County College, will authorize early withdrawal from the Fall semester. This will preclude the change of status to “out of status”. However, based on this withdrawal, the federal government mandates that the student depart the country within 15 days. (67 FR 76256)

5. Essex County College approves the readmission of Ms. Nguyen for the Spring semester. An additional visa is not required as long as the current F-1 visa is valid (ie. not expired). However, the student is required to secure a new I-20, as well as pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.

6. Ms. Nguyen has been informed that it is imperative that she return in time to attend international student orientation for the Spring semester. The orientation includes the opportunity to take the College Placement Test and register for the Spring semester. Orientation is mandatory for all entering international students.

Lấy tư cách là thành viên trong ban hội đồng quản trị của Hội Ái Hữu XNC và thay mặt cho 17,000 du học sinh Việt Nam đang theo học tại Mỹ, tôi đã buộc trường Essex College phải tái nhận học sinh này.
