Chào chú VHA08 và mọi người,
Ngày 13/07/2015 sắp tới, mình chuẩn bị phỏng vấn xin thị thực du học nên mong muốn chú VHA08 và mọi người cho lời khuyên cũng như góp ý cho mình.
Tình hình của mình như sau:
- Nam, 32 tuổi, hộ khẩu TPHCM, độc thân, là con trai út và sống cùng gia đình.
- Trước đây mình từng du học Hàn Quốc từ 2003 đến 2005, chuyên ngành ngôn ngữ Hàn Quốc học. Sau khi tốt nghiệp năm 2005 đến nay, mình đi làm suốt (freelance có, fulltime có). Công ty hiện đang công tác tính đến thời điểm này vừa hơn 5 năm. Nhưng do chuyên ngành của mình chỉ là ngôn ngữ nên chừng ấy năm gắn bó với công ty, mình cũng chỉ được giữ vị trí là trợ lý giám đốc.
- Nay, vì muốn thăng tiến trong công việc nên sau khi bàn bạc với gia đình, mình quyết định sang Mỹ du học theo chuyên ngành MBA về international business.
- Trường không yêu cầu TOEFL/IELTS. Tuy nhiên, sẽ phải làm bài iTEP để kiểm tra năng lực Anh ngữ trước khi nhập học.
- Gia đình có hai sổ tiết kiệm: một sổ của mẹ là 1 tỷ, một sổ của mình là 500 triệu đồng. Sổ được mở tính đến ngày phỏng vấn là gần 3 tháng. Do gia đình mình không có thói quen gửi tiền ngân hàng, mà lưu giữ trong két sắt ở nhà. Thu nhập hàng tháng của mình cũng nhờ ba mẹ giữ hộ, phần để phụ ba mẹ trang trải các chi phí trong gia đình, phần để tiết kiệm, riêng bản thân chỉ giữ một ít bên mình.
- Mình có đại gia đình của bác gái (chị ruột của mẹ) hiện sinh sống tại California. Nhưng trước đây anh cả của mình khi làm hồ sơ xin thị thực công tác ngắn hạn tại Mỹ thì khai là không có người thân sống tại Mỹ nên mình nghĩ tốt nhất là mình cũng khai là không có cho khớp.
Nhờ chú VHA08 và mọi người đánh giá tỷ lệ được visa của mình thế nào ạ? Và mình cũng có soạn thảo nội dung trả lời phỏng vấn theo dàn bài câu hỏi mà trước đây chú VHA08 có đăng tải và chia sẻ cách trả lời sao cho hay. Nhờ chú VHA08 và mọi người xem qua và chỉnh sửa giúp cho hoàn thiện và tốt hơn ạ.

- Yes, I have ever lived and studied in Pusan, Korea for 2 years, from 2003 to 2005.
4. Have you or your family ever traveled abroad?
- Yes, I have. I had been in Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Macau, and Korea.

- My father is 70 years old, and my mother is 66 years old.
2. Do you have any relatives in US?
- No, I don’t.
3. How many brothers and sisters do you have? How many siblings are there in your family?
- I have two older brothers.

- No, I don’t.

1. What school did you choose? What school in US do you plan to study?
- I plan to study MBA in international business at City University of Seattle. School’s address is 521 Wall Street, Suite 100, Seattle, Washington, 98121.
2. Why did you choose this school? Why City University of Seattle but not others school?
- Through school’s website and forum for Vietnamese students in US, this university is the best suite for my needs. Tuition is reasonable; school doesn’t require TOEFL or IELTS score; and offers the language-assisted MBA program that is designed for international students whose first language is not English. Besides, school also offers 12 tuition scholarships for international students whose G.P.A is over 3.0.
3. Why US schools, not other countries? Why don’t you study in Australia or England, or Singapore?
- With MBA degree in the US, I will be able to come back to Vietnam and get a management job with higher position and salary in international companies.

1. What is your major?
- My major is MBA in international business.
2. How long are you planning to study in the US?
- I will focus on studying English hard for 1 year, and then MBA for 2 years.
3. Why don’t you learn English in Vietnam to save your money?
- Saving money is important, but I think effectiveness is more important. Leaning English in an English speaking country will help me improve my English faster and better.
4. How much does it cost for your degree per year?
- Around 41,000 usd per year. Tuition and fees is about 24,000 usd and living cost is about 17,000 usd.
5. What degree will you get when you finish study?
- Master degree, sir.
6. Name one/some course(s) or class(es)?
- I will take the iTEP exam firstly. If the score is level 4 or above, I will be placed to the Assisted MBA program and take some academic courses such as MBA Common Professional Components, Essentials of Business Management, Business Communication and Research, Law for Global Business, etc, … Otherwise, I will take ELP program.
7. Why do you choose this major?
- I have been working in a Korean trading company for more than 5 years just as a director assistant. With MBA degree, I will be able to get a management job with higher position and salary.

1. What do your parents do?- My father was a police and my mother was a shop owner selling fashion accessories like belt, wallet, and many other things. Now both of them are retired. They have houses for rent.
2. Who will pay for your study?
- My parents will pay mostly. But I have my own savings, too.
3. How much is their monthly income?
- Around 60 millions a month, from 2 houses for rent and my father’s retirement pension.

1. Will you return home after you finish you study?
- I will reward myself by traveling first.
2. Prove to me that you will return to your home country?
- OPT program allows me to work for 12 months. It will look better on my resume if I have some experiences in the US.
3. Would you like to stay in the US if you have a chance?
- Unless there will be a major change in my life, I already have plan for my future.

- That is why I am here for today. Prove to you and convince you to issue my visa.

- Although America is a wonderful country, I already have a long term plan.

- For a fraction of salary compare to the US, I can have a very good happy life with my family in my country.
4. What will you do if your parents ran out the money and could not afford your study well?
- You have been in my country for a while. I think you already knew that Vietnamese parents will sacrifice anything to make sure their children have the best education. It might happen; I think it will be very rare.
5. What difficulties do you think you may encounter in the US?
- Of course there will be problems and difficulties, but I will adapt just like the first time when I studied abroad in Korea.
