Chào mọi người, gia đình mình được chú nộp hồ sơ bảo lãnh hồi tháng 12/2010. Đây là nội dung mình check case bên USCIS:

On December 9, 2010, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.


During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Mình có một vài thắc mắc như sau:

1. Để chuyển từ giai đoạn Initial Review sang Decision thì mất bao lâu? Mình nghĩ đây là khoảng thời gian chờ đợi mà mọi người nói đến và việc mở hồ sơ có nghĩa là Approval phải không ạ?
2. Mình đang theo dõi lịch Visa tháng 10 và thấy hiện tại ngày mở hồ sơ chỉ ở đầu năm 2002, vậy là gia đình mình phải chờ thêm 8 năm nữa phải không ạ?
3. Hiện tại mình có cần làm gì không? Hay là mình chỉ để hồ sơ đó rồi chờ?

Nội dung email trên USCIS thông báo đã nhận được đơn I-130 của bạn vào ngày 09/12/2010, và đang ở giai đoạn xem xét ban đầu Initial Review chưa được chấp thuận approval, vì hồ sơ bạn mới làm năm 2010 nên còn phải chờ lâu lắm, thời gian chờ đợi của diện F4 khoảng chừng 13 năm, trong thời gian này bạn không cần làm gì cả mà chỉ để hồ sơ đó rồi chờ.
