1. Hồ sơ bảo lãnh quan trọng nhất là ngày ưu tiên (PD: priority date), tức là ngày mà người thân chúng ta nộp hồ sơ bảo lãnh cho USCIS. Sau này NVC sẽ căn cứ vào ngày này để giải quyết hồ sơ theo thứ tự first in first out.
2. Case number mà ở VN bắt đầu bằng 3 ký tự HCM đơn giản chỉ là mã số hồ sơ. Bốn con số đi sau ba ký tự HCM cho biết năm hồ sơ được nhập vào hệ thống máy tính của NVC sau khi đã được approve từ USCIS. Việc approve sớm hay muộn không ảnh hưởng tới việc giải quyết hồ sơ sớm hay muộn. Như vậy một case number HCM2009xxxxxx sẽ được giải quyết trước một case number HCM2003xxxxxx nếu như case HCM2009 có PD sớm hơn case HCM2003.

- Bạn có thể sự dụng mẩu thư này để tạo mối liện hệ với NVC. Khi hồ sơ của bạn có mở hồ sơ hay bị trục trặc, thì NVC sẽ liên hệ email cho bạn biết
