The Pennsylvania Higher Educcation Assistance Agency (PHEAA) has received your 2014-2015 State Grant application.
To be eligible for States Grant aid, a student must have been a bona fide domiciliary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for Pennsylvania for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the filing of the application. Domicile is a person's true, fixed, and permanent home, the place in which the person normally resides and to which the person intends to return whenever absent. The domicile requirement excludes any period of time the student spent in Pennsylvania while enrolled in a Pennsylvania educational institution, if the student came into or remain in Pennsylvania for the purpose of attending a school or college. It also requires that the student has not registered to vote in a state other than Pennsylvania.
Review of your State Grant file reveals that you, or your parent(s) if you are under the age of 18, have not been domiciled in Pennsylvania for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the filing date of your application. Therefor, PHEAA will be unable to provide you with State Grant aid for any portion of the 2014-2015 academic year.
If the above information is not correct and you established your domicile in Pensylvania prior to May 1, 2013, you should write a letter to PHEAA, P.0. BOX 8157, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8157. Be sure to indicate the date your domicile was established in the state of Pensylvania (month,day and year) and your purpose for moving to Pennsylvania at that time. Also be sure to reference your full nam and account number.
This notification of ineligibility applies only to the Pennsylvania State Grant Program. Please consult with the Finnancial Aid office at the school which you will attend for information on other available programs.
