Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).
Please notify the National Visa Center of the petitioner's current email address so we may update our records.
Based upon the information received, the NVC is unable to determine the date of birth for the petitioner. Please submit a copy of a government-issued document indicating the date of birth (e.g. valid passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate). The document must include the month, day, and year of birth.
The NVC has received an approved petition from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS, formerly known as INS). Based upon the information received, the NVC is unable to determine the date of birth for the principal applicant. Please send a copy of the birth certificate to the address below:
National Visa Center
ATTN: WC
31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 200
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2915
The certificate(s) must include the month, day, and year of birth.
If the birth was never officially recorded, or if it is impossible to obtain a birth certificate because records have been destroyed or the appropriate government authority will not issue one, you should obtain a certified statement from the appropriate government authority stating the reason the birth record is not available. Please submit this with secondary evidence of birth. The secondary evidence must be an original, or a certified copy of the original. For example, a baptismal certificate that contains the date and place of birth and both parents' names providing the baptism took place shortly after birth; an adoption decree for an adopted child; or an affidavit from a close relative, preferably the applicant's mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents' names, and the mother's maiden name. An affidavit must be executed before an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations.
Please be advised our office has revised our guidelines for communication between the National Visa Center and the public. We are now required to verify case information each time we receive an inquiry.
According to U.S. law, the National Visa Center is only permitted to discuss details of a visa case with authorized representatives and when provided with all of the following information:
" NVC case number or CIS receipt number
" Petitioner's name and date of birth
" Beneficiary's name and date of birth
" Your full name
If you are corresponding regarding an I-140 petition you must provide the following information:
" NVC case number or CIS receipt number
" Name of the petitioning company
" Beneficiary's name and date of birth
" Your full name
Please resubmit your inquiry including the required information.
If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.
Sincerely,
