Chào bác Hùng Việt,

Cháu đang là học sinh ES, lớp 11, trường Seneca, thành phố Louisville, KY. Trimester 1 và nửa đầu Trimester 2 cháu học ở trường Estill County High School, Irvine, KY. GPA của cháu là 3.8. Nửa cuối Trimester 2 & Trimester 3 cháu học ở Seneca, Louisvile, KY. Ở đây cháu chọn các lớp honor Chemistry1, honor Precalculus, honor English3, Advanced US History và AP Physics B. GPA của cháu hiện là 3.0.

Cháu đang làm việc volunteer tại viện thí nghiệm nghiên cứu bệnh ung thư của đại học Louisville, một tuần 2 buổi.

Cháu muốn được học tiếp lớp 12 công lập thì cháu phải làm gì? Host family phải làm gì? ba mẹ cháu phải làm gì? Tờ "Guardianship Agreement" là như thế nào và làm sao mà ba mẹ cháu (đang ở Việt Nam) có thể ký được?

Cháu cũng có người thân tại Mỹ (cùng tiểu bang và thành phố cháu đang học), vậy người thân của cháu hay là Host Family xin cho cháu học tiếp lớp 12 công lập thì thuận tiện hơn thưa bác? và họ phải làm những gì?

Trong hồ sơ xin chuyển đổi status từ J1 sang F1 có nói đến I-20, vậy nếu cháu xin học tiếp lớp 12 công lập thì phải có cái gì để thay thế cho tờ I-20 đó, thưa bác?

Điểm ACT năm rồi cháu thi thử khi mới qua Mỹ là 25. Cháu sẽ cố gắng để đạt được từ 32-34 trong năm tới để xin được học bổng vào đại học hoặc college. Cháu tin là mình sẽ làm được.

Để được học lớp 12 công lập, số tiền tiểu bang/học khu Jefferson County có cách nào xin tài trợ được không bác? và mình phải xin ở đâu? trang mạng nào? Cháu phải tìm đường xin thôi vì gia đình cháu không giàu. Để hòan thành ước mơ được học tại Mỹ cháu sẽ cố gắng học thật giỏi để tìm kiếm các học bổng mà thôi. Xin bác hãy chỉ bảo giúp cháu.

Một điều nữa cháu xin hỏi bác: cháu nên xin chuyển đổi status J1 sang F1 ngay tại Mỹ, hay là về Vietnam phỏng vấn để lấy visa F1. Cái nào chắc ăn hơn thưa bác?

Điền mẫu đơn trên (Ai sẽ là ngừoi chịu làm giám hộ cho cháu) rồi gởi về VN cho cha mẹ cháu mang đi thị thực chữ ký xong rồi gởi cho ngừoi giám hộ - Ngừoi giám hộ sẽ dẫn cháu tới high school gần nhà xin học cho cháu.

Nếu học khu lấy tiền (thường là không lấy) thì người giám hộ phải trả số tiền này.

Cảm ơn bác đã cung cấp cho cháu thông tin trên.

Tờ đơn Temporary Guardianship Authorization bác gửi cho cháu, cháu đã in ra giấy để đưa cho guardian rồi. Guardian sẽ điền ngay và gửi về VN sớm.

Về hồ sơ chuyển đổi status, cháu đã điền xong đơn I-539 và đã thu thập đủ các tài liệu khác. Còn tờ I-20 thì do trường cháu muốn vào là public school nên trường không cấp I-20.Vậy cháu có cần giấy tờ nào khác để thay thế I-20 không bác? Nếu có thì cháu cần làm gì hay lên trang web nào để có được những giấy tờ đó?

Xin bác hồi âm sớm cho cháu vì thời gian không còn nhiều.
